Visitor impersonation via out-of-scope token disclosure
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
Improper authorization in affected Rocket.Chat releases allows remote authenticated users to steal Livechat visitor bearer tokens. The visitors.info endpoint returns the full visitor object, including its token and contact and network data, without enforcing the caller's room, department, or queue scope. Exploitation requires an account with view-l-room permission and a valid out-of-scope visitor ID; the disclosed token enables visitor impersonation.
