Authenticated privilege escalation via crafted record paths
Published Jun 18, 2026 · Updated Jun 18, 2026
Prototype pollution in deepstream.io before 10.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to escalate privileges through a crafted record path. The record update pipeline passes attacker-controlled paths to json-path setValue, which traverses proto, constructor, or prototype segments and writes into object prototypes. Any authenticated account with write permission to any record can reach the flaw, allowing unauthorized changes beyond that account's intended permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
