CVE-2026-49233Network attack vector

Cache modification via unchecked rsync module traversal

Published Jun 8, 2026 · Updated Jun 8, 2026

Path traversal in NLnet Labs Routinator 0.15.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify its rsync cache via a rogue rsync URI. The rsync URI parser rejects empty and dot-only path components but fails to apply the same validation to the module component used to construct cache file-system paths. Reachability requires Routinator to process an attacker-controlled repository URI, after which traversal can corrupt cached RPKI data and interrupt or alter validation results.
