CVE-2026-49201Network attack vector

Persistent backdoor injection via hardcoded backup key

Published May 29, 2026 · Updated May 29, 2026

Hardcoded cryptographic key use in Acer Wave 7 firmware T7c_GBL_1.01.000055 and earlier allows attackers to alter device backups. The upload.cgi backup processor embeds an AES key, enabling encrypted backups to be decrypted, modified, and re-encrypted as apparently valid data. Network access requires no prior privileges, and importing a tampered backup can establish a persistent device backdoor.
