Stored XSS via unescaped default shortcode output
Published May 12, 2026 · Updated May 12, 2026
Stored XSS in Next Date 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the default shortcode attribute. The shortcode processing path accepts the user-supplied default attribute without sanitizing it and emits it without HTML output escaping. Contributor-level access is required to save the payload, which executes in the browser of anyone who opens the affected page.
