Device discovery and control via missing MQTT ACLs
Published Jun 4, 2026 · Updated Jun 4, 2026
Improper authentication in Acer Connect M6E firmware through M6E_AI_1.00.000019 allows remote authenticated users to access restricted MQTT topics. The local broker accepts global # and + wildcard subscriptions without topic-level ACL enforcement, exposing hidden-device messages and permitting unauthorized publishes. High-privilege broker access is required, and exploitation can disclose connected devices or deliver rogue control commands.
