CVE-2026-49134Public exploit

Root command execution via mutable installer script

Published Jun 1, 2026 · Updated Jun 1, 2026

Privilege escalation in CodexBar before 0.32.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary commands as root through the macOS CLI installer. The installer writes a privileged shell body to a same-user-writable mktemp file, then opens that file with administrator privileges through bash. Exploitation requires same-user code execution, a concurrent installer run, and approval of the legitimate administrator prompt; success grants root command execution.
