Unauthenticated SSRF via unrestricted redirect protocols
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
SSRF in Music Player Daemon before 0.24.11 allows remote attackers to reach restricted services through redirected URL fetches. CurlInputPlugin enables CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION without restricting redirect protocols, so pre-7.85.0 libcurl follows an allowed HTTP URL to schemes such as gopher or SFTP. An unauthenticated MPD client can invoke add, readcomments, albumart, readpicture, or load to make the daemon connect and sometimes disclose a peer banner.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
