Message redirection via unfiltered IRC control headers
Published Jul 6, 2026 · Updated Jul 6, 2026
Header injection in the IRC component of Apache Camel allows remote attackers to redirect outgoing messages via crafted HTTP headers. The producer trusts the non-Camel-prefixed irc.sendTo Exchange header, which crosses HttpHeaderFilterStrategy and overrides the configured destination. Reachability requires a route from an untrusted HTTP consumer to an IRC producer; an unauthenticated client can expose message content or send it under the bot's identity.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
