Case denial of service via malformed links
Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026
Uncaught exception in Elastic Kibana Cases 8.0.0 through 8.19.19 allows remote authenticated users to block case display via a malformed comment. The case-comment formatter accepts stored malformed link syntax without validation or sanitization, then raises an unhandled error while rendering the case. Affected 9.x releases are 9.0.0 through 9.3.4, 9.4.0, and 9.4.1; case-comment privileges are required, and one stored comment blocks the case for every viewer until removal.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
