CVE-2026-49091Network attack vector

Log display tampering via unneutralized control sequences

Published Jul 1, 2026 · Updated Jul 1, 2026

Log injection in Elastic Kibana 7.0.0 through 7.17.14 and 8.0.0 through 8.11.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter displayed logs. Elastic has not identified the logging component or input field; the affected path writes attacker-controlled terminal escape sequences to log files without neutralization. Exploitation requires low-privileged access, crafted input, and a user to view the resulting log in a terminal that interprets control sequences; displayed data can be forged or obscured.
