CVE-2026-48978Network attack vector

SSRF and plaintext credential exposure via Bearer realm

Published Jul 17, 2026 · Updated Jul 17, 2026

SSRF in ORAS oras-go 2.6.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to probe internal services through a malicious registry's Bearer realm. In registry/remote/auth/client.go, auth.Client passes the realm from parseChallenge to token-request constructors without rejecting private IP literals or an HTTP downgrade. A user must direct a consuming application to the malicious registry, after which the client can reach internal endpoints or expose token-request credentials over plaintext.
