Authenticated XSS via unescaped image output
Published Jul 7, 2026 · Updated Jul 7, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Joomla! CMS 4.0.0 through 5.4.6 and 6.0.0 through 6.1.1 allows remote authenticated users to run script via image output. The generic image output layout emits attacker-controlled image values into HTML without escaping them before the browser interprets the markup. High-privilege access and passive interaction by another user are required, bounding the consequence to script execution in that user's browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
