Cross-site scripting in Joomla! CMS 4.0.0 through 5.4.6 and 6.0.0 through 6.1.1 allows remote authenticated users to run script via update metadata. The com_installer update-list template outputs fields obtained from extension update metadata without HTML escaping, allowing markup to enter the administrator page. Exploitation requires a privileged user to load an update list containing attacker-controlled metadata, placing the resulting script in that administrator session.
