Request smuggling via silently truncated framing headers
Published Sep 1, 2026 · Updated Sep 1, 2026
HTTP request smuggling in Node.js 22, Node.js 24, and Node.js 26 allows remote attackers to desynchronize forwarding proxies. The HTTP parser omits headers beyond maxHeadersCount or maxHeaderPairs from IncomingMessage views while still using a hidden Content-Length to frame the delivered body. Exploitation requires a proxy that rebuilds outbound headers from those views, pipes the original body, and reuses a backend connection, allowing request boundaries to be altered.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=22.22.3 <=22.22.3
- Affected versionversion=24.16.0 <=24.16.0
