Cross-user file deletion via unchecked avatar cleanup
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Authorization bypass in Apache Answer 2.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete other users' uploaded files. The avatar-update cleanup accepts caller-supplied file URLs and removes the referenced uploads without verifying that the authenticated account owns them. Any ordinary authenticated account can trigger cross-user deletion, while the published record reports no data disclosure or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
