Unauthenticated code execution via imported editor profile
Published Jun 5, 2026 · Updated Jun 5, 2026
Improper access control in JCE Editor 1.0.0 through 2.9.99.4 allows remote attackers to execute PHP code through profile import. The unauthenticated profiles.import task installs an editor profile that permits executable file types, enabling a second upload request to place PHP in a web-served folder. No account or public registration is required, and successful execution grants the Joomla site's server privileges.
