CVE-2026-48855Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Backend path disclosure via unchrooted READLINK response

Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026

Information disclosure in Erlang/OTP ssh_sftpd allows remote authenticated users to read absolute backend paths through SFTP READLINK. The SSH_FXP_READLINK handler returns the raw file:read_link/2 result without applying chroot_filename/2 to remove the backend root prefix. Exploitation requires the SFTP subsystem, a configured root option, and symlink access; it discloses path names but not file contents or access outside the root.
