Information disclosure via local URL fetch bypass

Published May 25, 2026 · Updated May 25, 2026

URL-filter bypass in Roundcube Webmail 1.6.14 through 1.6.15 and 1.7.0 allows remote attackers to load private URLs via HTML email. The rcube_washtml::wash_uri() sanitizer returned HTTP, HTTPS, or FTP image URLs when allow_remote was enabled or is_local_url() classified the destination as local, so disabling remote resources still admitted local/private targets. The bypass requires delivery of a crafted text/html message, and consequences are limited to information disclosure or privilege escalation through resources reachable from the rendering context.
