CVE-2026-48822Public exploit

Stored XSS via unchecked Markdown reference URLs

Published Jun 17, 2026 · Updated Jun 17, 2026

Stored XSS in Shaarli 0.16.1 and earlier allows attackers to execute JavaScript when another user clicks a crafted link. BookmarkMarkdownFormatter.php's filterProtocols method checks only inline Markdown links before parsing, so reference definitions carrying javascript: URLs bypass inspection. The attacker must log in and save a malicious bookmark description, and a victim must click the rendered link; successful exploitation runs script in the victim's Shaarli session.
