CVE-2026-48719Network attack vector

Shell command execution via unquoted branch names

Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026

Command injection in Warp's prompt branch selector allows remote authenticated users to run shell commands through a crafted Git branch name. Prompt chips stored attacker-controlled branch names in raw command strings, allowing shell metacharacters to be parsed before execution. Exploitation requires repository push access and a victim who opens or fetches that repository and selects the crafted branch; commands run with the victim's local shell privileges.
