CVE-2026-48700Public exploit

Local code execution via unrestricted ShowFolders URI handling

Published May 22, 2026 · Updated May 22, 2026

Code execution in LXQt PCManFM-Qt 1.1.0 through 2.4.0 allows local users to launch files through a crafted D-Bus request. The org.freedesktop.FileManager1.ShowFolders handler passes regular-file URIs into a MIME-handler lookup and launch routine instead of restricting the request to folders. Reachability requires the desktop session to expose the D-Bus service and an installed handler that performs a useful action; demonstrated Wine handling escapes a same-user sandbox, although upstream disputes that the specification-compliant behavior is a security flaw.
