CVE-2026-48557Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Executable file upload via incomplete filename blocklist

Published May 29, 2026 · Updated May 29, 2026

File upload restriction bypass in Spatie Laravel Media Library before 11.23.0 allows remote authenticated users to retain executable filenames. FileAdder::defaultSanitizer() checks only the last suffix and omits executable extensions, so inner or unlisted executable suffixes survive in stored names. PHP execution through a double extension requires legacy Apache AddHandler behavior, while omitted executable suffixes bypass the blocklist without it.
