CVE-2026-48496Hinoki check available

Agent hang via blocking nonregular mapping open

Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026

Denial of service in OpenTelemetry eBPF Profiler 0.0.202527 and later before 0.0.202622 allows local users to halt ELF analysis. The processPIDEvents goroutine opens a process mapping through its filesystem root without first verifying that the target is a regular file, so a FIFO blocks openat2 indefinitely. Any unprivileged workload on a profiled Linux host can supply the mapping; the blocked goroutine stops analysis of new ELF files but does not expose or alter data.
