CVE-2026-4837Network attack vector

Root code execution via beacon-response eval

Published Apr 8, 2026 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Eval injection in Rapid7 Insight Agent before 4.1.0.2 allows remote attackers to execute code as root on Linux via a crafted beacon response. The Linux ir_agent beaconing logic passes content from the response to Python eval(), which interprets the content as executable code. Exploitation requires prior, highly privileged access to the Rapid7 backend because mTLS restricts accepted commands to the platform.
