Path traversal in Adobe ColdFusion 2025 Update 9 and earlier and 2023 Update 20 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code. The RDS FILEIO WRITE operation at /CFIDE/main/ide.cfm accepts an attacker-controlled filesystem path and writes arbitrary content outside the intended directory. RDS must be enabled with authentication disabled; a successful request can place a CFML web shell in the web root and execute it as the ColdFusion service user.
