Browser denial of service via active SVG
Published Jun 1, 2026 · Updated Jun 1, 2026
Incomplete SVG filtering in OTRS and OTRS Community Edition allows remote attackers to exhaust browser resources through ticket email content. The ticket article renderer preserves active SVG constructs from inbound email instead of neutralizing them, enabling resource consumption without JavaScript despite CSP. Exploitation requires an agent or customer to open the affected ticket, and the consequence is limited to browser-side service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
