CVE-2026-4819Network attack vector

Credential disclosure via Kibana request-body audit logging

Published Mar 31, 2026 · Updated Mar 31, 2026

Credential exposure in Search Guard FLX 1.0.0 through 4.0.1 allows remote authenticated users with audit-log access to read Kibana user credentials. The audit logger records HTTP request bodies by default and fails to exclude the /_searchguard/auth/session login path, placing submitted credentials in audit events. Exploitation requires request-body logging and access to the audit destination; the disclosed credentials permit account impersonation without altering or interrupting the service.
