Authentication bypass via incompatible MySQL escaping
Published Jun 1, 2026 · Updated Jun 1, 2026
SQL injection in the database layer of OTRS and OTRS Community Edition allows remote attackers to bypass authentication. The MySQL quote method applies backslash escaping to attacker-controlled strings even when NO_BACKSLASH_ESCAPES makes backslashes literal, allowing crafted input to terminate a quoted value. The flaw is reachable without credentials only on MySQL or MariaDB deployments using that SQL mode and exposes protected application functions and data.
