Stored XSS via unsanitized Markdown rendering
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Stored XSS in Budibase before 3.39.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in another user's browser. MarkdownViewer assigns marked.parse output directly to innerHTML, preserving attacker-controlled HTML from a writable column without sanitization. BASIC app access with WRITE permission and a Text component bound to that column are required; execution exposes the victim's session token and permits authenticated API replay.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
