TLS traffic interception via missing hostname verification
Published Jul 27, 2026 · Updated Jul 27, 2026
Certificate validation in Apache Thrift c_glib before 0.24.0 allows remote attackers to intercept or alter TLS traffic. The ThriftSSLSocket client completed certificate-chain validation without binding the certificate to the requested hostname, so a trusted certificate for another host was accepted. An attacker able to mediate the network path can impersonate the intended Thrift server and read or modify RPC data exchanged by the client.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
