Service interruption via unchecked streaming write bounds
Published Jun 19, 2026 · Updated Jun 19, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in NI gRPC Device Server 2.17.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to interrupt service via a crafted write request. The streaming API processes the write without checking its supplied bounds before reading beyond the intended buffer. No privileges or user interaction are required when the gRPC endpoint is network-reachable; the availability loss also affects InstrumentStudio 2026 Q2 and earlier.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
