Account takeover via pre-registered password activation
Published Jun 17, 2026 · Updated Jun 17, 2026
Improper authentication in DroneAware Server 1.1.x allows remote attackers to take over accounts through pre-registration. Registration accepts an arbitrary email address and attacker-selected password before ownership verification, while email activation and Google SSO linking later trust and enable that password. The attacker must know or guess the victim's email address before enrollment and wait for normal activation, after which the password grants persistent access to the victim's data and account actions.
