Database compromise via unescaped harvester registration parameters
Published Jun 15, 2026 · Updated Jun 15, 2026
SQL injection in Metacat 2.0.0 through 2.19.1 allows remote attackers to read and alter database data via harvesterRegistration. HarvesterRegistration.dbInsert() concatenates unit, contactEmail, and documentListURL into an INSERT, while quoteString() wraps raw single quotes without escaping. No valid LDAP identity is required, and PostgreSQL stacked queries permit full database-context reads, writes, and statement execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
