CVE-2026-48102Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Information disclosure and crash via UDF overread

Published Jun 5, 2026 · Updated Jun 5, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in 7-Zip 9.11 through 26.00 allows remote attackers to disclose heap data via a crafted UDF image. CFileId::Parse aligns a File Identifier Descriptor by reading up to three padding bytes before checking whether the exact-size heap buffer has ended. A user must list or extract the image; each overread yields a one-bit open/fail oracle and can crash the process under hardened allocators, without enabling memory writes.
