Remote server crash via unhandled stream error
Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
Uncaught exception handling in @grpc/grpc-js allows remote attackers to crash affected Node.js gRPC servers via malformed HTTP/2 streams. The server attaches an error listener only after dispatch begins, so an invalid stream can emit an unhandled error during initial request processing. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful requests terminate the hosting server process without disclosing or modifying data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
