CVE-2026-48035Network attack vector

Audit-log deletion via unenforced bucket retention

Published Jul 24, 2026 · Updated Jul 24, 2026

Security feature bypass in Sherif Mansour Hulumi before 1.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to delete CloudTrail and AWS Config audit logs. The AccountFoundation path hard-codes Object Lock off for startup-hardened audit buckets, forwards logBucketForceDestroy to them, and omits both Object Lock and the independent EventDataStore for sandbox deployments. Reachability requires AWS credentials with S3 deletion rights or control of a Pulumi stack configured for force destruction; the bounded consequence is loss of the forensic trail.
