CVE-2026-48025

CA private key disclosure via unwiped heap memory

Published Jul 28, 2026 · Updated Jul 28, 2026

Improper heap clearing in CAManager in juev nebula-mesh before 0.3.7 allows attackers to recover CA private keys via heap inspection. The resolver decrypts an Ed25519 CA key into a slice retained by CAManager, and signing callers release the manager without zeroizing that slice. Exploitation requires process-memory access through facilities such as a core dump, ptrace, swap, or a container or VM snapshot; recovered keys permit certificate forgery.
