CVE-2026-48024Public exploitNetwork attack vectorHinoki check available

Arbitrary file write via merged-header traversal

Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026

Path traversal in Wazuh before 4.14.6 and 5.0.0-beta3 allows remote authenticated users to write files via cluster sync archives. cluster.unmerge_info() builds queue paths from peer-controlled merge_type and merged-header name values, and process_files_from_worker() only confines the result to WAZUH_PATH instead of the declared cluster item directory. Reachability requires cluster-port access and the shared Fernet key; overwriting ossec.conf or other writable Wazuh files can yield root command execution when services reload.
