CVE-2026-47898

Local data disclosure via unvalidated external DTD

Published Jul 3, 2026 · Updated Jul 3, 2026

XXE in PatternParser in Apache Lucene.NET 4.8.0-beta00005 through 4.8.0-beta00017 allows local users to read data via crafted XML. PatternParser's DtdResolver accepts an unexpected external DTD filename and falls back to default resolution instead of rejecting it. Exploitation requires a high-privilege local caller able to supply PatternParser input; the reported consequence is data disclosure without writes or service interruption.
