Information exposure via exception reason headers
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Information exposure in HandshakeWebSocketService in Spring Framework 7.0.8 and earlier allows attackers to obtain request-header data. HandshakeWebSocketService includes request headers in an exception reason instead of limiting the reason to non-sensitive handshake diagnostics. Reachability requires a Spring WebFlux application with WebSocket support and an error-producing handshake; the disclosed consequence is indirect exposure of potentially sensitive user information.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
