Open redirect via unsafe Location header generation
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Open redirect in Spring Framework 6.2.0 through 6.2.19 and 7.0.0 through 7.0.8 allows remote attackers to redirect users. In both Spring MVC and Spring WebFlux, UrlHandlerFilter removes a trailing slash and places the resulting request URI in a redirect Location header without ensuring that broadly matched crafted paths remain same-origin. Exploitation requires redirect mode, a broadly matching filter pattern, a crafted URL, and user interaction; the bounded consequence is navigation to an attacker-chosen site.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
