CVE-2026-47881Network attack vector

Batch job denial via unbounded multiline record assembly

Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026

Resource exhaustion in Spring Batch 4.3.0 through 4.3.13, 5.2.0 through 5.2.6, and 6.0.0 through 6.0.4 allows attackers to stall batch jobs. FlatFileItemReader accumulates physical lines into one logical record without size or line-count limits, consuming excessive CPU and memory. Exposure requires DefaultRecordSeparatorPolicy or JsonRecordSeparatorPolicy and a crafted input file; the default SimpleRecordSeparatorPolicy is unaffected.
