Arbitrary file write via unsanitized message header
Published Aug 26, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Path traversal in Spring Integration allows remote authenticated users to write ZIP archives outside the configured work directory. ZipTransformer uses the unvalidated file_name message header to construct the output path under workDirectory, allowing absolute or traversal paths to escape it. The attacker must control that header on a message routed to a ZipTransformer using ZipResultType.FILE, which is the default, and writes remain limited by the application process permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=6.4.0 <=6.4.12
- Affected versionversion=6.5.0 <=6.5.10
- Affected versionversion=7.0.0 <=7.0.5
