Stored XSS via unsanitized media attributes
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Stored XSS in TinyMCE allows remote authenticated users to execute attacker-supplied scripts when another user renders crafted content. The media plugin fails to sanitize data-mce-object and data-mce-p-* attributes before preserving them in rendered media content. Exploitation requires the media plugin, permission to submit stored editor content, and a user who renders it; script execution can read or alter data accessible to that user's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
