CVE-2026-47714

Crash via inline-mask size integer overflow

Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026

Integer overflow in Struktur AG libheif 1.21.2 and earlier allows attackers to crash a decoder via a crafted HEIF file. The inline-mask parser in libheif/region.cc multiplies attacker-controlled 32-bit width and height values before dividing by eight, wraps the product, and allocates a buffer too small for the bitmap. Reachability requires an application to raise or disable the default maximum-image-size limit and process the file; subsequent bitmap access reads beyond the allocation until the decoder crashes.
