CVE-2026-47701Network attack vector

Mounted-file disclosure via ServiceMonitor bearerTokenFile

Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026

Information disclosure in OpenTelemetry Operator before 0.152.0 allows remote authenticated users to read mounted Collector files. The TargetAllocator preserves a selected ServiceMonitor endpoint's bearerTokenFile as CredentialsFile, causing the Collector to read that path and send its contents as bearer authorization. Exploitation requires ServiceMonitor write access in a selected namespace, Prometheus CR mode, a mounted sensitive file, and network reachability to the chosen scrape target.
