Authenticated RCE via load-reader JavaScript template injection
Published Jul 23, 2026 · Updated Jul 23, 2026
Code injection in DbGate 7.1.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary OS commands through load-reader. The /runners/load-reader endpoint inserts the user-controlled functionName value into a generated JavaScript template without validation; a newline escapes the intended expression, while dynamic import bypasses the disabled require binding. Valid DbGate credentials are required, and injected code runs with the DbGate process privileges, which are root in the documented Docker deployment.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
