Stored XSS via unescaped custom font name
Published Aug 26, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Stored XSS in Penpot 2.14.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a custom font family name. The backend stores an unrestricted font-family value, and the frontend interpolates it into an @font-face rule before writing the style with innerHTML. Opening a file that references the malicious font triggers code on the Penpot origin, exposing the victim's session and accessible files and projects.
