Member-to-owner escalation via unchecked role update
Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026
Missing authorization in PraisonAI Platform before 0.1.4 allows remote authenticated users to promote workspace members to owner. The member-role PATCH route accepts the default member-level gate and passes an attacker-selected target and role to MemberService.update_role without checking the caller's authority. A lowest-tier membership token in the target workspace is sufficient, and successful exploitation grants owner-level control over membership and workspace settings.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
